The Social Security Institute (ISS) and the National Association of Parishes (Anafre) signed today the collaboration protocol for articulation in the scope of the implementation of the Statute of the Informal Caregiver. The session was attended by Ana Sofia Antunes, Secretary of State for Inclusion, Jorge Veloso, President of the National Association of Parishes, and the Member of the Board of the Social Security Institute, Sofia Carvalho.

"To ensure greater signposting and access to the right of potential informal carers, this articulation and concerted action with the parishes is fundamental, due to their territorial proximity to local populations, promoting greater protection of their rights and greater social recognition of the role they play in society", says Ana Sofia Antunes, Secretary of State for Inclusion.

The protocol concluded aims to ensure proximity support and personalized follow-up to those who need it most, through the Parish Councils, namely in disseminating the measure, in supporting the submission of applications for recognition of the status and submission of the same by the Direct Social Security, in providing spaces for the development of Self-Help Groups and in supporting the search for employment, after the care provided to the person cared for.
