Pursuant to Article 6(1) of Ministerial Implementing Order No 198/2022 of 27 July 2022, in situations where, as a result of the needs of parents or those exercising parental responsibilities, the Crèche needs to work more than 11 hours a day, additional funding is payable by the Instituto da Segurança Social, I.P. (ISS, I.P.), as set out in the Commitment for Cooperation for the Social and Solidarity Sector and its addenda.

It is also mentioned in paragraph 2 of the article that “(...) the institutions where the needs are verified must submit a request to this effect to the district services of the ISS, I.P., which confirms them at a later time.”

In this way, IPSS or equivalent with a cooperation agreement and private crèches with end of membership can benefit from an Additional Financial Contribution for crèches that practice a working time of more than 11 hours per day. The Crèche Schedule Supplement in the terms mentioned above, is requested by the entities interested in practicing the said schedule from September and must be formalized by the entity, by completing the applicable application(s) with the District Center of the Crèche location area, no later than June 30, 2025.
