Change in the amount of the allowance to be granted to the primary informal carer and in the reference income of his/her household

Recognizing the importance of adapting support to the real needs of caregivers, this Ordinance establishes an increase in the reference amount of the allowance to be granted, thus reinforcing the Government's commitment to social protection and the well-being of families. This is part of a broader strategy to promote longevity and deinstitutionalisation, ensuring that financial support is an effective tool in reducing economic pressure on carers and encouraging continuity of care within the family.
Accordingly, this Order makes the first amendment to Order No 100/2022 of 22 February 2022, which fixed the amount of the allowance to be granted to the primary informal caregiver and the reference income of his or her household.
