The Government reinforced support for the social and solidarity sector with the signing of the Addendum to the Cooperation Commitment for 2025-2026, at a ceremony held this Tuesday at the Prime Minister’s Official Residence in Lisbon, which included members of the Government and representatives of the main organisations in the social and solidarity sector.

The addendum translates into a reinforcement of more than €440 million in two years, including an increase of €218 million already in 2026, as part of a continued investment in social responses.

In addition to this effort, there are other support measures, such as doubling the contribution of the IRS to 1%, and a call was made to taxpayers to use this mechanism of financing the social and solidarity sector.
