Streamlining the payment of the additional contribution of users with dementia: Modification of the rules

Entities belonging to the Social and Solidarity Sector may submit requests for the payment of an additional contribution for users with dementia.
The payment of the above-mentioned additional contribution to the Institutions with the social responses Dia Centre, Home Support Service (SAD) and Residential Structure for the Elderly (ERPI) will be made for users in duly certified dementia.
The recognition of the dementia situation of users can now be certified by a psychiatrist or neurologist in the social and/or private sector, when there are no such health professionals available in the National Health Service (SNS) in the respective municipality.
Institutions of the Social and Solidarity Sector must instruct the process through the Form available on the Social Security website and refer to the respective District Center of Social Security.
